Put the power of ancient Native American healing to use and melt your muscle tension away like never before. Known for their excellent heat retention, basalt stones are placed in water and then heated using a thermo-regulated electric machine which makes sure the stones are the exact temperature needed for treatment. The hot stones can be used as an extension of the therapist’s hands or they can be placed upon your body. When placed upon your body the therapist is able to massage other areas maximizing the effectiveness of your treatment. The heat from the basalt stones dissolves stubborn muscle tension and also allows for easier and gentler access to deep muscle tissue.
Can anyone get a hot stone massage?Unfortunately there is a subset of the population that is not allowed to receive this treatment. This includes, but is not limited to, people with autoimmune conditions, diabetes, high blood pressure, or heart disease. Also, if you’re pregnant we are unable to provide this service to you.
How hot are the stones?At Trinity Wellness Centre we heat our stones to a temperature between 128-135 degrees Fahrenheit which provides the most effective form of treatment. The stones can either be placed directly onto your skin or on top of a thin sheet, whichever you prefer.
